a few small changes can make a HUGE difference...

Over the last 18 months or so, we have gone through our tiny condo and put in some storage shelving in each of the closets.  It's helped SO MUCH!  Although the pictures below are not specific to my crafting space, you still get the idea.  It might cost a little up-front (please keep in mind that we didn't use anything fancy...just a few options from our local Home Depot), but extra space is totally worth it!  :)

If you've got some before and after pictures of your closet re-organization, please leave a link in your comment.  I would love to see what you've done.

Bridget's studio

I will let Bridget explain her studio.
My studio (I love calling it that) is actually in a guest bedroom. I
gave myself a budget of $75. I wanted a work-place that was organized
and fun. I was really struggling with my sickers and my stamps,
photos and misc. stuff! I would just stack everything on paper trays,
and it wasn't pretty!

There was an old brown dresser in the guest bedroom. My in-laws
purchased it at an auction for less than $15 about twenty years ago.
It has huge, deep drawers. I spent about $12 sanding and re-painting
it. I'm using the top drawer for stamping, and the middle drawer has
my current scrapbooking albums.

I use the utility cart for storing stickers. I have them divided up
by theme. I use the hanging wall cabinet for ribbons and storing
photos that are waiting to be cropped. I also have two pink
containers. One pink container holds all my adhesives, while the
other holds all the little tickets and hotel room keys I manage to
collect. The caddy on the dresser holds scissors, scrapbooking
markers, hole punches, brads and my corner rounder.

Paula Pascual inkpads storage

Last week I posted my blog how I store my ink pads, a key element of my crafting. The acrylic unit is from Muji, the wooden racks are a old cassette holders and the shelf is from Ikea.

Coloured Pencil Storage

Kasia solved her pencil storage problems by making and decorating her own display box.

As we all know, supplies that you can see are the supplies that are most likely to be used - keeping pencils tucked away in their original boxes can mean they never see the light of day!

Kasia's problem was that she had different sets of pencils with similar shades and couldn't really see if they'd work together when they were all stored separately. By creating a segmented display box to store her pencils in, she has colour inspiration at her fingertips and can easily see how well pencils from different sets work together.

You can view her original post (in Polish) here.

Raising the table

Today I would like to share a little idea that I used for my studio. It is not new by any means, but it has made a dramatical improvement on my back. Basically, I have just raised the height of the table by using attachable legs, which also has given me more space for storage underneath the table.

Slice Design Cards Storage

I'm always a fan of crafty storage that's a crafty project in itself - this storage project was designed to hold a collection of 'Slice' memory cards and the booklets that come along with them, but could just as easily be used to store and catalogue your photo memory cards.

Using decorative book covers, self-adhesive velcro and a plastic pocket - Jenni has created a pretty solution for storing easy-to-misplace memory cards. You can see her original post here (in German - have your translation program at the ready!)

This nifty little project comes to us from 'Yosemite's Scrapbook'
