... I have received some emails and comments on other websites, I need to make some changes and made things clear in this blog.
The intention of this blog is to share ideas on how to store craft items (scrapbooking, sewing, stamping...) from crafters. The intention was to post ONLY photos and text sent in by the authors or a friend with the authorization from the author. As it happened, more than once that didn't happen. I posted things thinking I had the permission from the author without having the written consent and therefore got into a little bit of trouble.
When I knew I did not have the permission I said so in the blog and commented that if the author had any problems with the link and photos being posted here, they should say so as there wasn't a way to contact them. I also would like to make clear that I never Hot-linked as I always download the photo onto my computer.
However, if someone posts something in Youtube they have to assume it can be imbedded in any blog, website that allows Youtube posting. It is not stealing ideas or anything. It is not a thing that is possible with Youtube, it is something that Youtube facilitates, actually I would go further and say that Youtube encourages embeding videos in other websites. Therefore, I assume that if something is in Youtube it is ok to posts as long as I don't receive an email saying the opposite.
So, for the future, I will only post entries that are one of the following:
- have been sent by the author of the idea.
- videos from Youtube (unless I receie an email requesting me NOT to do so!)
- and for all the others ideas just plain old links.
Of course that will mean much less entries, less pictures and so on. But I can not spend my time looking for pictures, then asking for permission, witing for it, and if they care to reply then post it. It takes too much time.
So, please send your ideas or just pictures of studios. They don't need to be pretty, nor amazing nor huge, just real life crafty storage.

I'm sorry to hear you've had problems like this. As a crafter I truly appreciate that you have this blog. It's a shame there are those who won't let you post as the web is a wonderful place to share ideas as I've seen since I've taken up stamping. Thanks for all you do and can do.

Paula,
I am so sorry to hear that issues have surfaced such as these. I LOVE your blog and read it faithfully. I have used so many storage ideas I've learned here for my own scrap space. You ALWAYS give credit where credit is due and as a crafter I can't imagine another crafter being upset by this. Sad!!!
I am so sorry to hear this! I have received so many good ideas from your blog! I'm always excited to see what new room or storage idea you have found for us! Keep your chin up, you're doing a great job!
Hello !
I'm french (and very bad English sorry :-) ) and i like your blog.
I'm sorry for what happen.
You make a great job, and I wish long life to Crafty Storage.
Kiss.
Coconuts.
I agree with all the comments and I like to add that its a shame that these bloggers cannot see that it is a compliment to their talent. Thank you for your time.
The world is full of small-minded people who will never succeed because they are to pusillanimous to understand that whatever they invented only came to them because they got ideas from what others have done before. People like that stifle the creative genius in the world and will end up building up walls around themselves until they live in a dark cell, alone and isolated.
I agree with all the comments posted previously, Sorry to hear you got in a bit of trouble. I can't imagine why? You always directed us to their blog and ALWAYS gave them credit. What ashame!!! I LOVE YOUR BLOG AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORK!!!! It is much appreciated. I hope this incident didn't discourage you. PLEASE KEEP UP WITH THE GOOOOOOOOOD WORK!!
Paula,
I've been reading your blog for a while now and have NEVER heard you be negative toward anyone.
I would think that being mentioned on your blog would be an honor and not some sort of threat to who ever gave you problems.
Like you said, you always point out where pictures and ideas come from so it's not like you are calling these ideas your own.
WOW........ Why is it that there is always someone who has to try and spoil a good thing.
Dont let the haters get you down.
You have a wonderful blog and I hope this does not discourage you.

I found your blog just a couple months ago and I was so thrilled - I was in the midst of trying to organize my own scrapping/guest room and I was able to use some ideas I saw visually on your site, rather than just written about in an article somewhere... It was a great help! (When the room is done I'll send pix and you're welcome to post them!)
I just wanted to say that you ALWAYS credited whoever you got the photos from and if you didn't already have permission, you've ALWAYS invited them to contact you and request you remove them.
For all the dishonest blogging/photo thieves there are out there in Internetland, you're not one of them, and I can't imagine why anyone would get upset with you. I'd think it was an honor to be included!!!
We're all behind you, 100%!!!
I will join all the other commenters and say: I'm sorry that you have had a problem. I love your site and have gotten many great ideas!!! Too me, everyone should be happy that you are sharing their ideas. If they don't want to share, they should not have a blog!!! I will keep coming back to yours and your generous heart!!!
Sandra
I love your blog. I'm so sorry you got into trouble. Some people just don't get it. You did nothing wrong. You ALWAYS give credit and never take the ideas as your own. Again, I LOVE your blog.
Paula, I love your site and am so sorry that you have had trouble. I have found that you always give credit. I'm fortunate that I have gained so many readers because your blog has referred them to me. You know that you are operating above board so don't let someone that's having a bad day affect your wonderful blog!! I will continue to support you!!

I'm in the LONG process of sorting and organizing my craft room. Your blog has been so helpful to me and to my "professional organizer." I'm sorry that have some people complain about their pictures or whatever being on your blog. If it is any consolation, I think you've been doing us and them a great service by publicizing their ideas and helping us get to know folk that we would not otherwise have a clue about. Have a great holiday season.
Well I would love to share my storage and work area with you. They can be found on this page of my blog and you have my full permission to share with others on your blog.http://perfectlittlepurses.blogspot.com/2008/01/where-i-work.html
Sorry to hear some people have been so silly.
As a follow up, here is another pic, more storage related. Not state of the art, but does the job for me.

Hi Paula
I am a big fan of your blog, and I check most days to see what fab new ideas have been posted.
I cannot believe how people act sometimes - people have obviously put up their craft spaces, craft ideas on their blog - don't they know their blogs can be read by anyone in the world, and it's not like you are making money from their photos/links.
I have to say that as well as getting fabulous ideas for storing my ever growing stash of craft goodies, I have also found some fabulous blogs, and like-minded crafters....I have only ever read great things about this blog - and how chuffed people have been that you've included them here, and that they have had so much response after being on here....I wish I knew the petty ones so I could actively make sure I never visit their blogs again.
Keep up the good work Paula - you've helped organize my very untidy hobby/obsession !!
Well Paula Hugs to you, it's a real shame that ugly ole green eyed monster has to surface again and again, I think some people don't have anything else better to do...
well carry on as you are, you have a fab blog here and as you can see by the comments on this posting very inspirational to all....
It just seems as shame that even when you credit people, they still have to be prima donnas about it.... they perhaps should think about not publiscing their crafty spaces to the world and his wife in the future!!!
I, too, am a fan of your blog & have become such in a short amount of time. I'm in the process of relocating and reorganizing my crafting room/office and have loved pouring over the photos, blogs, and videos that you've been so thoughtful to locate and keep in one place for us. I agree with all of the sentiment posted before mine...you've not done anything wrong that I can see. If someone stupidly posted on YouTube or Photobucket (or something similar) and thought that the Public didn't have access to it, then shame on THEM NOT YOU! I agree, if it's on public forums, then it's for all to see. If you've gone out of your way to contact them on top of this, there's nothing they can complain about.
PLEASE keep the inspiration coming! There really are a lot of us out here who appreciate what you're doing!
Hugs-Nora
Paula, I'm so sorry to read about your predicament. Its such a shame that such a small minority of people ruin it for the rest. you always give credit to those you post about, and like you if the information was forwarded to me then I'd presume the author had given permission. The same as when you submit to magazines. I love your articles and pictures are such a huge part of it all. Keep up the good work. Kindest regards
Bronny :)
Some people have nothing better to do than interfere in what others are doing. Your website is awesome and I go to in heaps to get ideas to help me. Dont listen to the idiots.........your site is fab...maybe they are upset that theirs is not as good as yours. Go girl!!
I totally agree with you, sorry you've had hassle, your blog is so enjoyable and useful.
Here here about the you tube thing, if people don't want others to embed it shouldn't be on there!
Thank you for all your hard work!
Hang in there Paula - I know exactly what you are going through and there are wonderful people out there. Keep up the good work and don't let them get you down.
