From Spice racks to crafty storage

Another sample of what you can do when you repurpose storage items. This one comes from Rosie who says:

This is one of my favorite scraproom items - my little spice drawers. I found them at Liquidation World and they are perfect for storing my smallest items.

Crystal's ideas

Crystal's studio is her sanctuary, something many crafters can relate to. Similarly Crystal thinks that:

This is an old tire store sign that my hubs had stored behind his barn.  I brought it in and cleaned it up and loved the rustic look so I got a brilliant idea to adhere magnets to the back of some tins.  So now I can see all my embellishments.

Before/After

Shannon sent me her idea for storing ribbons above, which is very nice and made using just a crate, a few dowels and a little glue gun.
Then I went to her blog, I saw this before and after of a dining room cabinet. Really great to be reminded that we can recycle units and sometimes those are the best and prettiest of storages ideas.

Lucie's stamp storage

I received a few weeks ago this submission by Lucie. I love it, it is crafty in more ways than one as it recycles a craft product. This is what Lucie has to say:

I try to give a second life to stuff that would usually go to the recycle bin.  In this case, I used the 12x12 packaging from Fancy Pants (the one you buy felt or stamps in) and put my stamps in it.  I punched 3 holes and placed them in a 12 x 12 3-ring binder.  I love this storage because I don't loose any stamps.

Recycling Hospital furniture

After a few years doing this blog, it is rare nowadays when I see something completely unexpected and really clever as a Crafty Storage. This one from Gerry it is.

I will let Gerry explain it:

I live in a small house and a room for sewing or crafting is just not an option so I work in the living/dining area and EVERYTHING is on wheels... This work area  I use for crazy quilting and if we entertain or need the space, it all rolls into the laundry room.. It occupies a space of about 4x4'. The main star of this setup is the used hospital bedside table on wheels  which I love... So since I am going to be painting lots of buttons to sell I set up another another bedside table I found recently at a thrift store... and blogged about it...

I sure you must have other followers who live in apartments or small homes who could use these ideas...

Paula Pascual inkpads storage

Last week I posted my blog how I store my ink pads, a key element of my crafting. The acrylic unit is from Muji, the wooden racks are a old cassette holders and the shelf is from Ikea.

Petra's storage

Petra is a big fan of making her own jewelry. To store all her beads and findings Petra bought a bargain printing cabinet and converted into a beads cabinet.

later on, Petra started to make cards and scrapbooking, and of course started to collect stuff and found its place in the cabinet.

So in the upper part of the cabinet Petra has the card making stuff and in de lower part there are all the beads.
